30: Variance and Moments of Inertia

If one considers a probability distribution as analogous to a mass distribution along a line, and likewise considers the expectation (or mean) of the probability distribution to be the center of mass of the mass distribution, then the variance of the probability distribution can be seen as equivalent to the moment of intertia of the analogous mass distribution with respect to rotation about its center of mass.
